Friends of Great Linford Manor Park Textile Project

Thanks to our MK Community Foundation grant, a community was brought together to leave a lasting legacy for future generations to enjoy...

What is the Friends of Great Linford Manor Park Textile Project and what did it do?

The Friends of Great Linford Manor Park Textile Project was designed to address a need in the area for engaging people of all ages, gender, ethnicity and abilities in appreciating their local community. The project was a vehicle for bringing people together to carry out a project with a common purpose, something that is essential when building a community.

What support did the Friends of Great Linford Manor Park Textile Project Keynes need?

The project needed to create a way of engaging with the wider community, including the local primary schools, a local youth group, the local church community, a sheltered housing scheme and of course, general members of the community too. They needed to create enthusiasm through exciting and creative sessions that would result in a piece of heritage being created for all to enjoy for years to come.

What difference did our MK Community Foundation grant make?

The Friends of Great Linford Manor Park Textile Project was welcomed by an impressive 244 members of the community, all contributing to lasting pieces of work that will be displayed in local buildings for everyone to enjoy. The project enabled people to come together in a tough year to create something they can be proud of.
