MK Melting Pot

May 2016 | Awarded: £1,360

To support the 'A Summer School Break' project for low income families at Springfield Community Centre. Many low income families cannot afford holidays or childminders and have nowhere to keep children busy during the long holiday period. The project will provide somewhere safe and convenient for their children.

Broughton Cycling Group

May 2016 | Awarded: £197

To fund sandwiches, refreshments and energy bars for the 100 riders who attended Sportive, a 50 mile bike ride through villages and hamlets surrounding Milton Keynes. This has now become an annual event for the group.

YMCA Resident Activity Manager

May 2016 | Awarded: £25,000

To fund the Resident Activity Manager post for another year from September 2016. They now have 17 activities on offer each week ranging from cooking, budgeting, DIY, and tenancy workshops, to sporting activities such as cycling, football and badminton, drama, online learning, and a job club.

Arabian School of Gymnastics

To support the provision of equipment for boys, to put on classes for boys and encourage male participation in gymnastics. The club would like to be able to better cater to them and give the best chance at grassroots level of them developing in their field.

MK Melting Pot Summer School Holiday Club

May 2016 | Awarded: £1,360.00

To fund a Summer School Holiday Club for children between 7-14 years old. This cost will help to pay for the hall, snacks, and a coach/bus.Activities will include: Cooking, sewing , keep fit, storytelling, painting, outings to places of interest, jewellery making, crafts, card making and gardening.

To support 6 months of hall hire, equipment and material costs as well as fundraising events for the group to become more sustainable, in order to tackle social isolation, so that older residents of Newton Leys can socialise and make new friends.

326 Hanslope After School Club

April 2016 | Awarded: £180

To support Raptorxotics to visit the children, to show them animals that they could also touch, including, snakes, a tarantula and a bird of prey. Thanks to the funding, the group did not have to charge and exclude people from deprived backgrounds.

To support a 12 month pilot credit scheme where people in Milton Keynes can volunteer and do physical activities for rewards, with the aim of increasing physical activity and volunteering in Milton Keynes.

MK Prison Fellowship

April 2016 | Awarded: £200

To fund toy boxes, toys and children's story books, which are used by visiting children to Oakhill STC. The recording and a copy of the book are sent to the child. Family contact can drastically reduce re-offending rates. Maintaining and building positive relationships with family is key to this.

To support the launch of a new online voucher system to replace the paper based system of food vouchers. MK Food Bank deal with over 4000 paper emergency food vouchers per year. The paper based system is no longer for purpose and cannot keep up with the demand of the charity.

To support a 24 hour phoneline to meet the needs of vulnerable service users in Milton Keynes with a life limiting illness and to provide around the clock care and information for families and professionals caring for end of life children.
