Public Community Allotment

May 2016 | Awarded: £1,438

To purchase equipment to conserve water and to replace garden tools for the allotment on Pinewood Drive in Bletchley. At the end of the growing season, the products are shared with the helpers and then any left overs are given to charities that feed the homeless and poor.

Shaw Savill Way Residents Group

To support a community party with a bouncy castle, outdoor games and craft materials. For everyone to feel welcome and part of the community; Since the party, activity on the street has continued as residents have got to know each other.

Arts Gateway MK

May 2016 | Awarded: £2,000

To support the production and presentation of the MÓTUS 2016 dance festival to expand their impact on audiences through dance. The aim is to open an audience's perception of what dance can include, expanding opportunities of getting involved with alternative physical activity.

Poppy Avenue Residents

May 2016 | Awarded: £200

To support the Poppy Avenue Big Lunch for the residents group towards equipment hire, a bouncy castle and arts and craft. By hosting the Big Lunch, residents were encouraged to make friends and build relationships. The children got to meet and play with other children they did not know.

Ridgeway Community Trust

Every year, the Ridgeway Community Trust offers children the opportunity to attend a weekend away no matter their financial situation. They have half and full funded places available for those who would otherwise struggle to cover the costs. The weekend is full of fun activities, crafts, games.

Milton Keynes Arts Centre

May 2016 | Awarded: £4,500

In answer to the frustrations of local families and young people that there is ‘nothing to do in the summer holidays’, Power Plant was a programme of free workshops and events for those living on nearby estates to the Arts Centre, providing opportunities for creative learning and meaningful engagement.

Beanhill Action Group

May 2016 | Awarded: £962

To support a Willy Wonka themed family fun day at Beanhill football field. As Beanhill is an area of deprivation and social exclusion, fun days help families have a good day together and to form friendships with other families on the estate. Volunteers dressed as Oompa Loompas!

Stony Stratford in Bloom

May 2016 | Awarded: £200

To help support the purchase of a gazebo with Stony Stratford in Bloom’s name and logo on. SSIB used the gazebo at the Stony Stratford Apple Day, where they helped children to plant daffodils in pots to take away and care for.

Walton Churches Partnership

To support The Family Fun Day and Big Lunch at the Broughton Pavilion. The family fun days provide an opportunity for families and for those who get involved organising and running the events to build their confidence. The Big Lunch brings together people of all ages.

MK Melting Pot

May 2016 | Awarded: £1,360

To support the 'A Summer School Break' project for low income families at Springfield Community Centre. Many low income families cannot afford holidays or childminders and have nowhere to keep children busy during the long holiday period. The project will provide somewhere safe and convenient for their children.

Broughton Cycling Group

May 2016 | Awarded: £197

To fund sandwiches, refreshments and energy bars for the 100 riders who attended Sportive, a 50 mile bike ride through villages and hamlets surrounding Milton Keynes. This has now become an annual event for the group.

YMCA Resident Activity Manager

May 2016 | Awarded: £25,000

To fund the Resident Activity Manager post for another year from September 2016. They now have 17 activities on offer each week ranging from cooking, budgeting, DIY, and tenancy workshops, to sporting activities such as cycling, football and badminton, drama, online learning, and a job club.
