Woughton Community Council

To fund the purchase of new treated sleepers for raised beds, topsoil and currant bushes. The raised beds make it easier for the children in the junior gardening club to plant and raise vegetables, and use them in recipes. Through this they gain an interest in growing their own food.

Emberton Playing Field

To support the purchase of a new mower for the cricket square. The mower is a specialist piece of equipment that cuts the wicket very short and an ordinary mower for garden use would not be suitable.

To support the Summer FeedMK free picnic and fun day for those most in need in Milton Keynes. The event is primarily aimed at single parent families, low income families, the homeless and elderly to provide food, fun, friendship and a sense of community for those who attend.

The Wednesday People

To fund a lunch project for a year which will increase the profile of the group in the local community and encourage more participants to join. The group hopes that the provision of a monthly lunch will encourage more local older people to come along for their Weekly Wednesday get-togethers.

Into The Community

To support the securing of the perimeter from rodent entry to solve the problem of vermin. The Food Bank has lost several hundred donated items of food. It is important to get this work complete before Harvest and winter, when colder weather will encourage the rodents back into the unit.

National Autistic Society - MK branch

August 2016 | Awarded: £1,200

To fund monthly swimming sessions for branch members at Towcester Leisure Centre. The swimming sessions provide an activity the whole family can participate in, and creates an Autism friendly environment to put the members at ease.

Ramgarhia Sabha Lunch Club

July 2016 | Awarded: £675

To support a trip to Brighton for members of the club, paying for the cost of the coach, refreshments and lunch. The club's members are all pensioners on low incomes who would be at risk of isolation without the weekly gatherings.

Stony Stratford Lantern Project

July 2016 | Awarded: £616

To purchase materials for the Lantern Project, the conclusion of which is the Lantern Procession through Stony Stratford to the Market Square (accompanied by all sorts of entertainment - a samba band, drumming group, etc) in time for the switching-on of the Christmas Lights. At least 500 people take part.

Age UK Milton Keynes

To support the purchase of deep clean equipment and protective clothing for their intensive cleaning service for older people. The service responds directly to the needs of older people who because of a crisis, significant life event or period of ill health, have let the condition of their homes deteriorate.

To support a fun day at Caldecotte Miniature Railway. Families will be encouraged to bring a picnic while participating in the fun. The aim is for families with members who have autism to have a fun day out together.

Milton Keynes Branch Motor Neurone Disease Association

July 2016 | Awarded: £1,500

To support taxi journeys for Motor Neuron Disease patients to and from the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, as it has specialist services based there. Motor Neuron Disease takes away the ability to speak and move and a round trip to the hospital via taxi costs £168.

2nd Loughton Guides

To purchase train tickets so that the guides can attend the Wellies and Wristbands Guide Camp at Foxlease where they can mix with Guides from around the country and develop responsibility and leadership skills.
