Marshall Milton Keynes Athletic Club

September 2016 | Awarded: £5,000

To part fund the flood lights needed at the athletic clubs Stantonbury facility. The flood lights are essential for training during the winter months and are in need of refurbishment every 6-8 years, to replace the light bulbs, carry out maintenance and check all wiring.

Mary Drake School of Irish Dancing

September 2016 | Awarded: £200

To part fund the cost of 50 t-shirts for the dancers of Mary Drake School of Irish Dancing for their grading exams and for the Open Championships (Feis) at Ousedale School.

Lions Club of Bletchley MK

September 2016 | Awarded: £170

To fund 20 tickets to the Lions District Youth Celebration. The tickets allowed for 10 learners/ carers from MKSNAP and 10 pupils from Redway School to attend the party. This helps improve the participant’s social skills and communications.

To fund the purchase of maps and plastic water bottles for a Walk MK to raise awareness of the charity. The walkers will provide a registration fee that will go directly toward the MK Special Needs Advancement project; providing education and training for adults with learning disabilities.

Thames Valley Partnership

September 2016 | Awarded: £5,000

To part fund a part-time co-ordinator for the New Leaf Project, which aims to offers support for ex-offenders and to help reduce rates of re-offending, to create safer communities. The project will also aim to help people with a better understanding of issues relating to crime.

GranPart Milton Keynes

September 2016 | Awarded: £888

To fund the expansion of the group by hiring more rooms across Milton Keynes and having an advertising budget to attract new members. The budget will be used to purchase posters/leaflets/banners, cost of upkeep of the website, name badges for volunteers and the purchase of a recycled laptop.

East Bletchley Youth Community Group

September 2016 | Awarded: £3,638

To fund the continued running of a weekly community football session at the Sir Herbert Leon School each Friday. The project helps promote social integration between the younger people in the community, and hopes to break down barriers and encourage understanding.

MK Storehouse

September 2016 | Awarded: £5,000

To part fund the role of project manager to work 15 hours per week to maintain and run the charity. The manager would help with the running of the clothing distribution sessions and the managing of the volunteers and also help to build a stronger fundraising support from the local community.

Citizens MK

September 2016 | Awarded: £4,950

To fund a training package to help the organisation address a number of improvements that will be implemented internally and externally to assist the better running of company.

MK Prostate Cancer Support

August 2016 | Awarded: £1,500

To fund a PSA blood test event to promote awareness of the illness. The funding will pay for blood tests, Phlebotomists, venue hire, volunteer’s expenses, publicity costs and general sundries. PSA tests are useful to get early indications and to understand future risks.

To fund a project to support the running of a local mother and toddler group, where two childcare professionals will work within the group; Little cherubs at York House have been run by parents, for parents for the last 16 years. The aim is to employ two experienced professionals.

To support the purchase of eight B1 display-board panels in order to present research materials for exhibitions, such as “Woughton – Changing Landscapes”.
