This March, your group could have up to £500 in donations matched, or £1,000 if you are working to support people with disabilities and/or mental health problems.

In order to take part, you need to register with Localgiving, a platform which will allow you to raise money online. Donations made through Localgiving during the challenge will be eligible for match funding. If you’ve not previously registered with Localgiving, MK Community Foundation will cover the cost of your first year’s membership (usually £96). Just enter the promo code 30mk4 when you get to the payment stage. Please make sure you register with Localgiving in plenty of time to ensure your profile is active before the challenge starts. We would recommend to start the process by 1st March at the latest as they will need you to send in various documents before your Localgiving page goes live.

You will also need to register on our website below.

Funds

£10,000 of the match funding pot will come from the Margaret Powell Foundation Fund. If your group or project meets the following criteria, you’ll have access to up to £1,000 in match funds (£500 from the Margaret Powell Foundation Fund and £500 from the Community Fund):

To fund voluntary and community groups delivering projects that:

  • benefit frail elderly people and people with disabilities regardless of age
  • help those of all ages suffering mental health issues.

Ideally organisations should seek to encourage integration and social cohesion.

You don’t have to be a group dedicated to these issues, as long as you plan to spend your match money in a way that addresses them—for example getting older people more involved in your group, or making your premises more accessible. Please detail this on the registration form below.

The other £10,000 of the match funding pot will come from the Community Fund. This open to all Milton Keynes groups who have a Localgiving page and have filled in the MK Community Foundation registration form below.

Promotion

We would love to promote the groups taking part in the match challenge on our social media platforms. Please include details of how you will spend the money raised, along with any relevant photos on the registration form.
