Community Representatives

We seek highly motivated people to join our inclusive volunteer Grants Committee to play an important role in in the Community Foundation’s grant making.

Milton Keynes Community Foundation is an independent charity working for and at the heart of Milton Keynes.  We connect people and resources to projects and ideas to create positive change and long-term solutions for our communities. In 2017 - 18, we delivered more than £1.99 million in support of our local community.

Our grant making is supported by an independent Grants Committee, made up of up to 12 Community Representatives and 4 Grants Trustees, who oversee decisions on grant applications to a number of our grant programmes, including Community Grants, Large Strategic Grants, and the delivery of national programmes such as #iwill and the Tampon Tax Community Fund in Milton Keynes.

Our Community Representatives represent a broad cross section of our community, bringing knowledge and expertise of the Voluntary, Community and Cultural Sector and the various issues we support.

We aim for the committee to have knowledge and understanding of all 12 themes covered in our Vital Signs initiative. You can find our latest and all previous issues of Vital Signs here.

We are currently particularly seeking people with knowledge, skills and experience of one or more of the following:

  • Arts, Culture and Heritage
  • Disability
  • Children and Young People
  • Sport
  • Issues affecting LGBT people
  • Issues affecting BME people

Ideally, representatives should also be able to demonstrate commitment to local community issues and community development.
