On Thursday 20th July, Milton Keynes Community Foundation held its Annual Members’ Reception. The evening was generously hosted by Peter and Jane Wilson, who allowed all the guests to explore their beautiful grounds and celebrate the evening in true ‘garden party’ style.
It was great to see so many members having animated conversations, sharing memories and generally catching up – the informal nature of the evening allowed perfectly for this. The three speeches perfectly mirrored the spirit of the evening. Alexander Boswell, our President, started with a passionate call for action, highlighting many of the issues that the people of our city face today. Ian Revell, our Chief Executive, raised the concept of citizenship and the importance of the MK Community Foundation reaching out to the whole population of Milton Keynes and encouraging greater membership at a grass roots level. Also, Ian acknowledged the bursary winners who were present at the Reception and he encouraged members to introduce themselves to the outstanding young people! Finally, Peter Wilson thanked everyone for coming along to his house and celebrating the successes of the past year. He explained his links with the Foundation and why he supports us so passionately.
It truly was a delightful evening. If you attended, thank you for your time and we hope to have the opportunity to celebrate with you again next year!
