Managing a charity long term can be a challenge for its trustees and volunteers, with large responsibilities often falling on a few dedicated volunteers in their spare time.
The Charity Commission acknowledges that Community Foundations have a reputation for the effective management of charitable funds in order to maximise their impact at a local level.
Whether your organisation is big or small MK Community Foundation can help you through difficult situations to make the most of your organisation’s remaining income by helping other local groups thrive. We have recently worked with the Netherfeild Children’s Centre in such a situation and we are pleased to announce that we have assisted them with setting up the Netherfield Children’s Centre Legacy Fund.
The aim of Netherfield Children’s Centre Legacy Fund is to support projects that:
- Provide provision of the facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation of children resident in Milton Keynes and surrounding area, being facilities of which such children have need by reason of their youth or social and economic conditions, and which will improve the conditions of life for such children by promoting their physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
- Advance education of young people in Milton Keynes.
- Organise holidays and outings for needy and deprived children in Milton Keynes.
"The Netherfield Children's Centre had been in existence for over 30 years. Some of those serving on the Board of Trustees, have been involved since day one. Therefore, it is fitting that this good work can be continued, giving opportunities to children and young people in Milton Keynes" Clare Zilinckas
