Galley Hill residents Association

August 2017 | Awarded: £1,500

To fund the carving of a tree trunk, which will provide an unusual and artistic seating area next to the play area on the estate. The ornamental seating will help to create an inviting environment for parents and carers when accompanying children to the play area.

MK Friends Club

To fund a trip to the seaside for the members of the organisation, to build stronger relationships within the community. The aim is to also allow other members of the public to see what their community can offer, by educating each other and building friendships.

Helping Hands Pre-School

July 2017 | Awarded: £800

To fund the purchase of some new toys for the school which link to the Early Years Foundation Stage. The toys are to help the children develop their skills and also their emotional and sensory needs. This will ultimately help in the transition from pre-school to primary.

Time 4 Autism

July 2017 | Awarded: £1,500

To fund yoga classes for autistic children. Yoga helps children with ASD to feel calmer and less anxious, which in turn means it is easier for them to control their behaviour while learning skills. The yoga also has physical benefits, in that it can improve strength, flexibility and co-ordination.

Stony Stratford Lantern Project

July 2017 | Awarded: £655

To fund the materials that are required for the lantern festival in Stony Stratford. The event is part of the town’s annual Christmas lights switch on, and encourages creativity, and provides an opportunity for families to connect and spend time together.

MK Prostate Cancer Support

July 2017 | Awarded: £500

To fund blood testing sessions for prostate cancer. The event raises awareness of prostate cancer and educates people to the preventative cautions to take, to aid in the battle against this disease. Past sessions have been successful in identifying individuals who needed further treatment.

Little Miracles

July 2017 | Awarded: £1,195

To fund arts and crafts materials and DBS checks to enable the organisation to run activities in the summer for disabled children. The project helps families with receiving support within a welcoming environment, which will help them build stronger bonds as a family in the long run.

Wolverton Lantern Festival Association

July 2017 | Awarded: £1,500

To fund workshops held by local community artists, which will be held for children at Greenleys School, to make lanterns that will then be put up in Wolverton Memorial Square. The lanterns will form a focal point for the Lantern Festival in November.

For the purchase of a new noticeboard so residents can be informed as to what is happening locally. The notice board impacts the events that are advertised greatly, by promoting them and ensuring as many people know about the events as possible.

The Mix

To fund the expansion of the organisation so they are able to facilitate more people and for a broadband connection, rental tables, a cupboard and art resources for use in the sessions. The group promotes self-help for people with mental health, but also the chance for people to socialise.

Newport Pagnell Town Panthers FC

To fund the purchase of a defibrillator, which has the option to switch from adult to child mode. The defibrillator will be of great benefit to not only the club but the community, and is an important safety measure as there are so many people that attend the games.

Milton Keynes BMX Racing Club

To fund a new gazebo for the club. The gazebo is essential in providing shelter for the clubs members in good and bad weather, and used every week at training, and taken to regionals and nationals. It acts as a meeting point that brings the club together.
