To part fund the development of an online database to support the growth of the Career ‘WorkOut’ programme, that teaches young people about their potential future careers and opportunities. The database would deal with managing volunteer bookings and correspondence at lower than the current costs.

5th Newport Pagnell Scout Group

December 2016 | Awarded: £1,496

To fund the purchase of tables, benches and tableware for group activities for their camping equipment. They will also be used at other group activities such as weekly meetings and when holding a community fundraising events.

Special Needs Unit Gymnasts (SNUGS)

December 2016 | Awarded: £4,705

To part fund the cost of accommodation, food and team uniforms for the visit to the British Special Olympics, for 10 gymnasts, three coaches, and one welfare officer from Milton Keynes. This event shows that with the right support, what people with intellectual disabilities are able to achieve.

Mediation MK

To fund the cost of a mediator to visit clients in court for a 3 month pilot period. A mediator would be available to assist couples in resolving issues concerning their children and avoid the long, expensive, and distressing process of litigation.

MK Reader Service

To fund the installation of a recording room in their new premises at Margaret Powell House. This is vital for the delivery of their free transcription service; they offer to transcribe any paperwork onto CD or audio cassette for people with visual impairments or other disabilities.

British Blind Sport

December 2016 | Awarded: £715

To help fund the marketing, venue hire and volunteer expenses for 2 visually impaired taster days at Snozone. People with visual impairments can feel isolated and have less chances to take part in sport. This can affect their health and wellbeing; these sessions will help to address these issues.

British Red Cross Society

November 2016 | Awarded: £874

To fund the Community Allotment Project, that improves the health and well-being of the users, some of whom are refugees and asylum seekers. The project helps them adjust to living in the UK by helping them to establish identities and play a role.

Global Outreach Foundation

November 2016 | Awarded: £790

To fund running costs for Breakfast Club, which is held on Saturdays twice a month, from 9am to 12pm. They provide a hot breakfast to all members of Conniburrow community and new arrivals to the area, with the aim of encouraging cultural and social inclusion.

Joe Turney

November 2016 | Awarded: £2,000

To fund the support for Joe Turney to further his sports career in Kart Racing, after his recent successes.

Clean Slate Church

November 2016 | Awarded: £1,500

To fund the cost of food for 550 people, who will be attending the FeedMK Christmas Lunch. The meals provide an opportunity to meet, socialise, and share a meal free of charge, and is aimed at promoting a sense of inclusion, belonging, and self-worth as well as providing food.

Lions Club of Bletchley MK

November 2016 | Awarded: £500

To fund the annual visit to the Senior Citizens Party, hosted by the Lions International District 105A, in Harrow, Middlesex, for 30 elderly people from Bletchley. The celebration event consists of a meal, music, bingo, raffle, roving entertainers, dancing, and a stage performance.

Age UK Milton Keynes

November 2016 | Awarded: £25,000

To help support the 18 month development of the Gardening service delivered by Age UK MK for older people living within Milton Keynes. The funds will be used to support salary costs of a Gardening Manager and to recruit and train new and existing gardeners.
