MK Natural History Society Photography and Nature Day

A photographic exhibition: The Wildlife of Milton Keynes - at the Central Library - A nature day event on 1st July at Howe Park Wood (with the Parks Trust) displaying photographs of the work of the Society's volunteers and nature based activities.

To fund a weekend trip for the Friday Youth Club to go to the Caldecotte Xperience. The trip offers the chance for the children to gain new experiences and challenge themselves in an encouraging environment.

MacIntyre Care

To fund a performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, which will take place at Marshall Amplifications. The participants benefit from engaging in activities that help to grow their confidence and creativity. The programme also helps to improve their reading skills, as they are learning dialogue.

Compass Club

To organise basketball and football for young people from different estates, to get them to engage young people in sport, while celebrating the MK50 anniversary. The event will enhance social cohesion by easing community tensions.

Baby Basics IT equipment and marketing materials

To fund the purchase of a laptop and printer allowing the charity to be effective with their referral system, social media email and marketing.

Leisure Together

To fund the cost of setting up adult social group meetings in Newton Leys; including the cost of room hire and advertising. The group is open to every adult local resident. The aim is for people to build relationships, have fun and combat loneliness.

Milton Keynes Festival Fringe CIC

April 2017 | Awarded: £4,000

To fund the 2 day ‘Busking Festival’ which creates a chance for young people, artists and performers to showcase their work. The event involves street art shows, musicians, poets, dancers, actors and many more, who will demonstrate their talents across various places in Milton Keynes.

Woughton Heritage

April 2017 | Awarded: £1,500

To fund an exhibition as part of the Heritage Open days for MK50. The exhibition in St Mary’s Church will look at the last 50 years and explore the development of the new town. The project will inform and educate those who have taken part in the process.

Fullers Slade Residents Association (FSRA)

April 2017 | Awarded: £700

To fund a 1970’s themed Fullers Slade event to celebrate MK50. The event will be held in Spider Park with many activities, events and food for visitors. The aim is to bring together local businesses to help strengthen community spirit and encourage people work closely as a community.

Inter-Action (MK) Ltd

To fund a complete refresh of the nightclub, Groovy Gecko for learning disabled adults. The three areas which will evolve will be: mentoring and engagement with members, skills and training and the increase and expansion of their offers. The club offers quality entertainment within an accessible area for its members.

Read Easy Milton Keynes South

To purchase literacy books and teaching aids to help adults to learn to read, with a primary focus being on ex-offenders, addiction recovery etc. The programme offers the chance for the participants to grow in confidence and self-esteem as they learn to read.

To enable the group to pay for four tutors to provide music sessions for under 5’s, to help with their speech and language skills. The aim is to help the children develop their language skills, as well as encouraging exercise, through movement to music.
