Tracing the Pathway

To fund the staff, publicity costs and accommodation for a research project called ‘Groundwork’ that will help to produce art and support the development of local artists. The aim of the project is to promote the arts within Milton Keynes.

Willen Hospice

To fund a physiotherapist as part of the ‘PREP Programme’, which helps those in the earlier stages of a life limiting illness, so that they can have an ongoing lifestyle and manage their condition more effectively. It is a free service that offers physiotherapy, speech therapy and other support.

Riverside Parks Group

To fund entertainment and toilets for the Riverside Fair in Stony Stratford. The fair attracts families to the park and encourages people to use it more frequently, it is also an opportunity for the attendees to learn about their local environment, while enjoying the attractions and entertainment.

Phoenix Rising:MK

December 2017 | Awarded: £4,400

To fund two marketing project leaders and venue hire for 6 months for a music project within MK for adults with learning disabilities and difficulties. The project will help them develop their verbal and communication skills. The project will end in the summer, with 3 performances at different venues.

Ebony Carr

December 2017 | Awarded: £2,000

Ebony Carr is this years winner of the Sports Bursary! She intends to use the bursary to pay for warm weather training next year to be able to compete internationally in athletics to help her achieve her goals.

MK Inclusive Tennis

December 2017 | Awarded: £4,937

To fund the staff needed for free tennis lessons for children who attend MK College, which will encourage children to play sport on a more regular basis. The lessons will be held within lunch hour or after school, with an enthusiastic coach to get children more interested in sport.

Wriggle Dance Theatre

To fund the performance costs for 6 free performances of Wriggle’s show for children in MK6 area. The show ‘Into the Rainbow’ is an interactive, fun and playful show for families that may otherwise not be able to experience entertainment like this.

Arts & Heritage Alliance Milton Keynes

December 2017 | Awarded: £5,000

To fund artists, artist development training and materials for a 7 month action research project that will encourage MK schools to be more creative. The project will work with 10 schools in Milton Keynes and 5 arts providers to bring the arts to the children.

Works For Us

December 2017 | Awarded: £4,793

To fund a staff member to deliver administrative support to the organisation. Works for Us helps long term unemployed people in Milton Keynes so they can develop skills in order for them to be able to move closer to paid employment, education or training.

UK Makkal Sangam

To fund the food, venue hire and a PA system for the Harvest Festival of India. The event is a chance for the community to socialise and for people to showcase their talents, while the children can learn about the traditions of the festival.

The Honeypot Children's Charity

To fund the costs for two residential respite breaks for 24 young carers in Milton Keynes aged between 5 and 12. The trips make the children feel less socially isolated and more confident in other areas of their lives, for instance at school and with family.

Lions Club of Bletchley MK

December 2017 | Awarded: £435

To fund the travel and tickets for 20 older people from Bletchley to go to a senior citizens party in Harrow. The party offers them an opportunity to socialise and meet new people while having fun. The event will feature music, bingo, a raffle, entertainers, dancing and a stage performance.
