Leonie Thorogood

During his year of office as High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, Léonie's husband Peter held the honorary role of Vice President of the Community Foundation.

Léonie agreed to take on the role when Peter's term of office ended. She brings a strong practical interest in the arts and music in the community.  Both she and Peter have served on the Board of the City Orchestra and continue to support it. She has been Chairman and committee member of Vale of Aylesbury NADFAS. She is a member of the volunteer management committee of The Film Place, (Buckingham's community cinema), and of the Buckingham Centre for the Arts which funds and promotes small arts projects within the community.
She is a Trustee and Vice President of BACAB (Buckingham and Winslow Citizens Advice Bureau), and a member of BACO (Bucks Association for the Care of Offenders). Leonie previously trained with NACRO to work with released prisoners and she has retained an interest in such work.
If there is any time to spare, she plays tennis and golf, opens her garden for the NGS, sings, travels and skis.
