Foundation saves Madcap floor

Community Foundations’ Heart Fund Saves Madcap Floor

The Grade II listed building has enjoyed over a century of continuous community use with hundreds of people passing through its doors each week.  As a result the original floor had become dangerously in need of repair.
Recognising the community value of Madcap, the grant application was approved by the Foundation’s Heart Fund which has been established with the local radio station to target projects supporting local families, young people and musical activities.
“We were thrilled to receive the refurbishment funding, but this goes further than money. It sends a message to everyone at Madcap that it is a building and an organisation worth investing in and that we can deliver. That means such a lot to us. Madcap is a special place and it is a wonderful resource for all the community.”
Rosemary Hill, Chair of Trustees, MADCAP
