MK Community Properties Ltd is a subsidiary of the Milton Keynes Community Foundation, which owns and manages a portfolio of property and land for the benefit of the local community.

The company provides substantial rent subsidies to local charities and voluntary sector organisations, and any surpluses made are then passed over to the Foundation for grant-making.

The Property Portfolio

The properties were originally gifted to the Foundation by the Milton Keynes Development Corporation and the Commission for New Towns in 1987. As part of their social development policy, the Corporation encouraged and supported a vibrant voluntary sector, in part by providing affordable, good quality premises from which the various groups could operate. That need continues to be just as important, if not more so today.

The portfolio includes Acorn House, a City Centre office block which is undergoing ongoing refurbishment toward becoming a flagship building for the local voluntary sector. For more information on the new services, facilities and shared resources please visit: www.acornhousemk.co.uk.

Community Reserve Sites

These are plots of land which are available for disposal for community benefit. Also a gift from the Development Corporation, the sites were made available so that the Property Company could ensure groups such as the scouts and guides, church groups and drop in centres for older people or families would all benefit.

Community Reserve Sites are released on a leasehold basis to benefit the local community. The Property Company also retains some of the sites with a view to meeting the future needs of the growth of Milton Keynes.

Please download this pdf to view the Community Reserve Sites which are currently, available, let and reserved across the city.
