Heart Campaign raises £7k
Their Hearts are in Milton Keynes...
Community groups, and local businesses took part to offer their support for our city. Hearts were formed and funds were raised in some brilliantly creative ways. The campaign was launched at the Ultimate Beatles Benefit gig at the end of January and the call for local people to form hearts brought some great results and generous donations. Here are some examples.
Staff from the Open University gathered outdoors in a perfect heart shape. MK Korfball sold out of cakes in half an hour at their fund raising cake sale. Local artist Aneesa Mirza created ‘Faith’ & ‘Hope’ hearts on canvas on behalf of the MK Islamic Arts Heritage & Culture Organisation. The Shika Tamaa Support Service made a bold statement with their stunning red ribbon heart. Families in the Bradville area did a red balloon release and MK Lions raised funds at their companies tournament in Middleton Hall.

This is a very local campaign which relies on relatively small amounts of support from lots of local people who care about Milton Keynes – with everyone’s support the £1 million can be raised.
There’s still lots of work to be done, to find out how to get involved please contact 01908 690276 or visit www.mkcommunityfoundation.co.uk.
